1946 – The Dream Begins

Helen and Hugh start with a dream and very little else. While stopping for gas, Helen is asked if she knows anyone who wants to buy the station. She sees opportunity where others see risk and says yes. Without hesitation, she sends a telegram to Hugh, who is serving in the military. His reply suggests they pass — but Helen has already made the decision. Super Oil Company is born.

1946–1970 – Growing Across Kansas

Over the years, Helen and Hugh expand Super Oil Company to 23 gas stations across Kansas, building a reputation for hard work, trust, and determination.



1971 – A New Chapter

A young employee named Jerry Glasgow joins the team, bringing fresh energy and vision.

1976 – Performance Takes Shape

Jerry opens Topeka Tire and Wheel, and the company becomes Performance Tire and Wheel Group, focusing on honest, dependable auto care.

1991 – Passing the Torch

Jerry and Linda Glasgow take the lead, continuing to grow the business while staying true to its values.

2003 – The Next Generation

Their son, Justin Glasgow, joins the company full-time, preparing to carry the family legacy forward.

2013 – Performance Tire & Auto

Justin and his wife Tanya purchase the company and rename it Performance Tire and Auto, reflecting the full range of services and commitment to trusted auto repair in Topeka.

Today – Still Family. Still Trusted.
